Twelve Whiny Jews: Was Haman Really Guilty?

A one-act parody

Free and open to the community

Was Haman really guilty? Was he acting out of free will or was he insane? Should he be acquitted, pardoned or hanged? His sentence extended or commuted?

A jury of 12 mountain Jews will deliberate about Haman’s fate in this musical comedy performance at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 11 at Congregation Beth Evergreen, 2981 Bergen Peak Drive, Evergreen. The event is free and open to the public.

The play commemorates Purim, a Jewish festival where fun and frivolity reign. The holiday marks the time when Queen Esther saved the Jews from the evil Haman, who wanted to exterminate them.

Twelve Whiny Jews is an original parody written by Ron Solomon, who comes to Evergreen straight from writing TV comedies in Hollywood. The music includes lyrics set to such West Side Story favorites as Tonight and Officer Krupke.

Join us for a night of singing, whining, laughing and frivolity.
