Join us this season for the fourth and final walk of our four part Native Plant Ecology Walks where we will be exploring and discovering native plants and wildlife throughout the Bear Creek Watershed. Our focus will be on Native Plants, but we will also be looking at each unique habitat and stopping to observe birds and any wildlife along the way.
Our fourth walk will be exploring the native plants in the alpine habitat, location to be determined. The alpine ecosystems are home to a variety of rare alpine-arctic plants, some of which occur only here and above the Arctic Circle. Because of the fragile tundra and rarity of these plants, visitors are asked to stay on the trails when visiting the area and not to walk on the tundra.
All levels of naturalists are welcome from beginners to experts as well all have something to offer and so much to learn! This program is ideal for adults and older children.
Please bring proper walking shoes, weather appropriate clothes, water and your deep interest in nature! Sign up for one walk, or all four! Walk will be limited to 8 participants. Discount given if registering for all four walks at once.
All participants are advised to follow the CDC recommendations for social distancing and COVID safety. Masks and social distancing are strongly recomended.
