ON THE MOVE FOR MENTAL HEALTH is a virtual activity challenge that promises a month of motivation, self-care, and wellness – with a little friendly competition and fun sprinkled in! We invite you to shake off the winter blues, get up and get moving, and help support mental health and wellness services provided by Jefferson Center.
Throughout the month of May, you can raise funds to benefit Jefferson Center while tracking and posting your accomplishments in running, walking, biking, hiking, swimming, yoga, meditation... any wellness activity you choose. You may sign up as an individual or gather your friends, family or co-workers and form a team of up to four people. Registration is FREE, and once you've signed up, you can set your goals and track your accomplishments in two areas - fundraising and activities.
Fundraising - When you sign up for the Challenge, you will automatically be entered as a fundraiser, and we'll give you all the tools you need to succeed. You may set your own fundraising goal, and there is no minimum fundraising amount required. There are several fundraising milestones, and you'll be rewarded as you reach each one! If you want to join the Challenge but prefer not to set up a fundraiser, you may donate on your own.
Activities - You can choose any activity you like, the more the better! As you complete each one, you'll post your accomplishments, collect virtual badges, and earn bragging rights to share on social media. The top three activity finishers (both individuals and teams) will receive award medals.
If joining an activity challenge is not for you, no problem! For a starting donation of $25.00, you can become part of the Cheering Section! You'll have the option to register as a fundraiser, or make an additional donation on your own. Either way, you can still be part of the fun! There are several fundraising milestones, and you'll be rewarded as you reach each one!
This past year has been difficult for all of us, and it has been especially tough for people who struggle with a mental health or substance use issue. All monies raised in this challenge will benefit mental health and wellness services provided by Jefferson Center. The link between emotional and physical well-being is a key component of recovery, and we offer both traditional and holistic alternatives that build on a person's unique strengths and interests to help improve total health.
