Dan Kern, Emergency Coordinator for the Amateur Radio Emergency Services is offering a Wilderness First Aid Class. Proceeds to benefit R2D3 ARES.
This is a two weekend class eight hours each day.
Dates: May 22, and May 29th
Place: Rim Rock Church Bailey
Class Time 0800-1700
Bring your own lunch.
This class will better prepare you for being a wilderness first aid technician.
Wilderness first aid is different from basic first aid, where in Wilderness first aid you are prepared to assess, treat, and make appropriate notations which become part of a patient's medical record, and when definitive medical care is more than an hour away.
This is a certificate course and no first aid training prerequisites.
The class cost is $125 payable the first day of class. No refunds for missed or partial class. Please RSVP no later than May 20th, so I can have sufficient materials available. You will receive numerous handouts an a Wilderness First Aid Booklet.
An app of the book is also available, let me know if you are interested.
The book / app shows flow diagrams that aid you in assessing and treating the patient.
Thanks,
