Center for the Arts Evergreen (CAE) has hosted our Evening for the Arts dinner and gala event for many year. Often, you generously purchase $75 tickets and join us for an elegant night honoring our arts person of the year. However, 2020 flipped upside down. We flipped with it and created A Day of (Evening for) the Arts! The response from the community was OVERWHELMING! Arts outreach and collaborating with other nonprofits has become an integral part of our mission at CAE, and A Day of the Arts gives us the chance to celebrate all of that with a FREE day of art!

This year, we’re making it bigger and better than ever! Join us for A Day of the Arts on Saturday, June 5 from 11 am-4 pm: a FREE day of live performances and hands-on art in the CAE “grove” in our parking lot. Come for one hour or enjoy an entire day of arts. In addition to the exciting lineup of performances and events, we will still be maintaining some tradition: honoring our Arts Person of the Year, Celia Sladek. Over the years, Celia’s tireless energy and dedication have allowed CAE to implement world-class exhibitions like Rocky Mountain National Watermedia show, to acquire numerous grants, and to create innovative outreach programs for our mountain communities. A Day of the Arts was designed to honor Celia, by providing arts outreach for ALL in Evergreen. A Day of the Arts is FREE for all and a wonderful way to get people outside, seeing, hearing, and participating in the arts.

Schedule of Events:

• ALL DAY in the main gallery: The opening of our new exhibit, Getting Sideways: A Slightly Different Journey Through Life by Mike Arzt and Pat Milbery in the main gallery. Getting Sideways will have several interactive components both inside and outside
• ALL DAY: Arts & Crafts tent for kids
• 11-11:50 AM: Live music by John Erlandson
• 12-12:45 PM: Evergreen Dance Center
• 1-1:30 PM: Evergreen Players and Evergreen Children’s Chorale
• 1:30-2 PM: Honor our Arts Person of the Year, Celia Sladek
• 2-2:45 PM: StageDoor Theatre musical numbers from “Gleeful”
• 2-4 PM: FREE Ice Cream from Em’s Ice Cream
• 2:50-4 PM: Concert performance by local Conifer High School band, “Who’s Thomas”
• …and let’s not forget Slife’s Food Truck from 11 AM-4 PM!
