Light Trail Maintenance at Apex Park

Participant Opportunities

Background: Volunteers will perform light maintenance work on Apex Trail. We'll use a variety of tools to improve water drainage while also possibly doing vegetation management and trash pickup along the way. Family members are welcome to join; however, each individual must register separately. *Special COVID-19 guidelines* To minimize community contact we will not be providing water or gloves, so please bring at least 1 liter of water and a pair of suitable work gloves. You are also required to bring your own facemask. IF YOU DO NOT BRING A FACEMASK YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO VOLUNTEER. Please only handle tools while wearing gloves. Social distancing guidelines will be followed, and a limited supply of hand sanitizer will be supplied by the trail leaders. REQUIREMENTS: Wear a mask and a back up mask Masks MUST be worn when volunteers cannot separate themselves by more than 20ft Bring hand sanitizer Social distance yourself from your fellow volunteer Be in good physical condition Be able to use a variety of tools, including shovels, picks and rakes Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian Be prepared for numerous and changing environmental conditions WHAT TO BRING & WEAR: Closed-toe, sturdy shoes are required. No open-toed shoes or sandals of any kind will be allowed. Long pants (we will be working in rattle snake habitat) Work gloves Plenty of water (2 quarts minimum) Please bring your own lunch and snacks, meals will NOT be provided Raingear Sunscreen and insect repellent A day pack
