In this presentation, students will learn: what Mindfulness is; why we need it now more than ever; the research on the benefits of a Mindfulness practice; how to actually meditate and how to make your daily life more Mindful. Students will receive simple practical tools that can be life changing.
Julie Maus, Licenced Social Worker, has a BA in Psychology, Masters in Social Work with experience at The Mayo Clinic in MN. Her specialization in Mindfulness based therapies is beneficial in treating anxiety and depression as well as managing everyday stress we all experience. Mindfulness allows individuals to find the pause between stimulus and response – a behavior that can be life-changing and enhance relationships with others and the world.

Our registered therapists provide free counseling services to youth ages 12 to 20 in the mountain communities west of Denver. We work to raise awareness of the social, emotional, and mental-health issues young people face, and to provide the necessary life skills to create wellness and resiliency in their lives.
