Whether you choose to run or walk, this trail will be sure to have you working hard while you take in the breathtaking, expansive, and historical views. The first mile will take you through the historical town of Silver Plume, after which mile 2 will challenge you physically and mentally as you climb a steep and rocky single-track trail (at over 9,000 feet in elevation), followed by a sharp descent back into town. The run will finish up with another loop around the town, ending at the George Rowe Museum.
Due to the terrain in mile 2, runners under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent in order to participate in the 5k. Runners and walkers alike must take extreme caution while traversing the single-track trail due to the steepness of both the ascent and descent, as well as the loose and rocky terrain.
Our 1 mile route will take a gentler approach, and will stay in the town of Silver Plume, providing participants the opportunity to soak up the scenery and enjoy all that Silver Plume has to offer.
As always, our ‘fun run’ (no timing involved) is free, however we will be collecting donations for ‘People for Silver Plume, Inc, a 501 (C) (3) Nonprofit, that is responsible for the historic preservation of Silver Plume, CO.
