Living History Days 10a-3p
Come join some old time fun, live music by the campfire! Try some Johnny cakes and lemonade! Take a hay ride!
Historical Society Groups will be at the Visitor Center and Staunton Cabin will be Rockin to Celebrate the Stauntons and Area History!
We need your help, there are robbers in the area! Meet the “Jefferson County Sherff” there to get a map and follow the clues from Ranch Hand Picnic Pavillion or the Visitor Center to find the Reynolds’s Gang hidden treasure! After finding the treasure continue with your posse on to the Staunton Cabin to meet the “Park County Sherri” to receive your reward!
Learn about how doctors Racheal and Archibald Staunton treated patients during the pandemic of their times, with old school surgery techniques and medicinal plants.
Enjoy old time games and crafts.
Experience the protests of the Feather Trade and the fight to protect our beautiful colorful birds from becoming extinct and decorations on ladies hats!
Trapping and Hunting gear used in the day will be displayed along with the valuable furs that were sought after by fur traders.
Learn to chink a cabin! See log hewing and cabin building! Who knows you maybe even will find a boot legger!
All events will be held at the Visitor Center and Staunton Cabin. Hop on the hay-ride at the visitor center or road below Meadow Parking or it’s a 30 min hike from Davis Ponds to Chase Meadow Trail from either the Visitor Center or Group Picnic Area. Also easily accessed along Staunton Ranch Trail to the Historical Cabin District Trail.
