Join Heidi Harris, Archivist at Coors, show audiences around a rarely seen bar in Coors Brewery. This bar was completed in 1977 and is still located on the 6th floor of the Brewery Office Complex. The Quality Assurance department used this bar until 2018 to evaluate the beer, and for many years served as an executive bar to entertain guests. There are many treasures found in this space, from original certificates allowing Coors Brewery to brew beer at the end of Prohibition, to original paintings of the brewery and the Coors family. This program will show highlights of the Coors’ amazing collection and tell stories behind the various treasures.
Heidi Harris was born in Fort Collins, Colorado and grew up in Lakewood, Colorado. Heidi attended Colorado State University and received her Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology. After volunteering at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science in the archive department and with temporary exhibits, Heidi realized museums were her career passion. She then attended the University of Colorado in Boulder and received her Master’s in Museum and Field Studies with an emphasis in Archives. Heidi started working at Golden History Museum and began to learn about the great city of Golden. Heidi accepted a chance to work at Coors Brewery as the Coors Archivist and has now been working there for 6 years. During those years, Heidi has learned so much about beer and the beer industry and has met outstanding people who share amazing stories about their time working at Coors Brewery.
