Explore the beauty of Colorado’s winter wonderland on a guided snowshoe hike in Georgetown! Kimberly Knox of Georgetown Outdoor Discovery will be leading snowshoe hikes with Evergreen Audubon each month through April! Kimberly is an experienced outdoor guide who strives to make it fun and safe for folks to build their outdoor skills and have their own successful adventures. Whether you are a first time snowshoer, or an experienced trailblazer, we’d love for you to join us! Snowshoes will be provided, but you are certainly welcome to bring your own.

In preparation for your adventure, please review the following guidelines:

  • Please wear your snow boots or waterproof hiking boots with wool or ski socks. Gaiters if you have them some ski pants have them built in.
  • Dress in warmer layers like you would to go skiing, so that you are warm when standing around and can shed layers when you warm up. Base layer next to skin (long johns, synthetic or wool). Mid layers that insulate (sweaters, or fleece coat and pants).  And, warm outer layers that can block wind or shed snow. (ski coat, down puffy, or shell jacket and pants). Layers can be tied around your waist if you get hot. Or, an extra piece of clothing can always get stashed in your pack.
  • We are at altitude so please make sure you are well rested, fed, and hydrated.
  • Bring a water bottle. A snack will be provided!  Let us know if you have any food allergies.

This program is geared for kids and adults ages 12+ years of age.

Our meeting place is in front of The Georgetown Gateway Visitors Center – 1491 Argentine St., Georgetown. Plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled tour time. Check your navigator as travel times vary with traffic.

You will then follow Kimberly to the trailhead in your own car. Please make sure you have good tires on your vehicle!
