Inter-Canyon and Elk Creek Fire Protection Districts will be hosting an informational meeting to discuss the opportunity for Hilldale Pines residents to participate in a FRWRM grant that the districts were successfully awarded in 2021. The grant should accommodate defensible space for up to 100 homes within the next 3 years, and provides 50% match up to $2500 for the implementation of defensible space as identified in a Wildfire Prepared assessment. The requirements for residents to participate in the grant are as follows:
-
Sign a property owner commitment letter which defines the process including timing, money commitment, inspections and reimbursement.
-
Sign up and receive a Wildfire Prepared home assessment.
-
Request quotes to complete 100% of defensible space as identified in the Wildfire Prepared assessment.
-
Complete 100% of the defensible space using one of the Wildfire Prepared approved contractors that you have received a quote from.
-
Pass a final inspection by a WIldfire Prepared inspector and/or Colorado State Forest Service forester for your defensible space.
-
Submit for reimbursement for 50% of the defensible space mitigation work which must include a paid receipt from the contractor. Maximum reimbursement is $2500.00.
-
Reimbursement checks may take several months to be received from the state of Colorado.
