EVERGREEN TRAIL RACE SERIES
How tough are you? Evergreen Park & Recreation District (EPRD) invites runners to compete in the 2022 Evergreen Trail Racing Series, a three-race series of running events on mountainous terrain around scenic Evergreen and our mountain community. Distances range from a 5k to an epic half-marathon to the top of Bergen Peak (elevation 9,708 feet), a climb of well over 2,000 vertical feet.
Registration & Race Days
Race registration for Bergen Peak 1/2 Marathon and Elk Meadow 5k and 10k is $45 in advance and $55 race day. Race registration for Staunton State Park 20k is $50 in advance and $60 race day. You can purchase all three races for $100. Races start at 8 AM (pre-registration opens at 7 AM.) Please note there are no race refunds or transfers.
Pick up your race bib on race day. Please bring a reusable water bottle to the races. There will be no water/aid stations on the course; this Series will be cup-free.
Please Note: In the event of inclement weather or unforeseen trail conditions the race director reserves the right to delay, cancel, move or reschedule the race. There will be no refunds in the event of a race cancellation.
Evergreen Trail Race Series (Package of 3)
Bergen Peak Half Marathon - June 4
This race is epic! Bergen Peak runners will endure the rolling hills of Elk Meadow and the strenuous switchbacks of Bergen Peak and Too Long Trail. While ascending approximately 1,500 feet, runners will peak at a total elevation of 9,000 feet as they cover this 13.1 mile course. Participants should meet at the Buchanan Park Recreation Center near the Pioneer Trail head. Download the race map (PDF).
Elk Meadow Trail Race 5k & 10k - July 9
This 5K/10K race leads runners throughout the rolling hills of Elk Meadow Open Space Park. Runners will start on Pioneer trail and head clockwise around the meadow. The first stretch is a steady downhill along highway 74. From there, runners will weave their way up to where they will run through the trees along the foot of the mountain.
The course then shoots runners back out into the meadow to reconnect with Pioneer Trail to the finish line. Participants should meet at the Buchanan Park Recreation Center near the Pioneer Trail head. Download the race map (PDF).
Staunton State Park 20k - August 13
Join us at Staunton State Park for a beautiful 20k trail race. Runners will start at 8,215 feet of elevation and reach an elevation of 9,579 feet at the Eagle Cliff Overlook. Please bring a water bottle. This is a cup free race. Download a race map (PDF).
