Location: Lair o' the Bear Park- Education Shelter. The shelter can be reached by walking a short distance east along the Bear Creek Trail (past the restroom) from the main trailhead. The park address is: 22550 CO-74, Idledale, CO 80453

Program Description:

Enjoy an evening exploring the natural world along Bear Creek with your journal. We’ll also learn techniques for sketching and painting moving water.

All ages. Instruction will be geared for adults, but children who are interested in art are welcome to attend with an adult. Parents, please make sure to monitor your children's energy and interest levels during club outings to ensure that their behavior is conducive to a positive learning environment for everyone.

Program details:

Please bring the following items:

-Your own sketchbook, a pencil, a watercolor or colored pencil set, and any other art materials you would like to use. We will also have art materials to use during the session if you don't want to bring your own (other than the sketchbook).

-Water and a snack. You are also welcome to bring a portable dinner to eat during the program.

-A backpack or shoulder bag to carry your supplies

-Clothing layers appropriate for the weather.

-Mosquito repellent can be helpful to have it the evening is buggy.

-A lightweight portable camp chair or stool. We will be meeting at the Lair o' the Bear Education Shelter which has benches. However, please bring your own camp chair so you will have a comfortable place to sit when you leave the shelter to journal along the creek.

-Hand sanitizer for hygiene

The program will take place entirely outdoors. For the comfort of fellow participants, please leave pets at home. We will send out an email if the program needs to be changed or cancelled due to hazardous weather. If inclement weather is predicted, please check your email frequently so cancellation notices are not missed.

Registration for this program is available one month before the date of the program.
