Are you new to hiking outdoors?
Maybe you have fears or doubts that keep you from hitting the trail, or just need a “wing woman”? Hiking, camping, and general exploration in the mountains can be a daunting adventure to start on your own, so we invite you to learn the ins-and-outs of outdoor adventuring at our Women In Nature (WIN) hiking event!
We’ll discuss the 10 hiking essentials, what to bring in your backpack, and overall best practices while exploring the great outdoors. This program aims to empower women in nature exploration and recreation!
We are partnering with Kimberly Knox of Georgetown Outdoor Discovery for this guided adventure in Georgetown! Kimberly is an experienced outdoor guide who strives to make it fun and safe for folks to build their outdoor skills and have their own successful adventures.
What to Expect:
Our meeting place is in front of the Georgetown Gateway Visitor Center – 1491 Argentine St., Georgetown. Plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled tour time. Check your navigator as travel times vary with traffic. We will then caravan to the trailhead.
