Why join us: Time to get out into the wild country of Colorado if you have not been out yet this year. This is an easy trail with some rocky sections. Bring your lunch. Trip limited to first 12 vehicles.
Who: If you have not been with us before you are welcome to join us. We will give you all the coaching and advice you need to be successful. This is a good first-time beginner’s trail.

 

Trail Rating: 4/5 out of 10. This is a fairly short loop with rocks ledges and scenic views. Please read the references above to understand trail descriptions and risks. At the end of the day, you might say something like “I would have never tried that. It was easy with experienced people telling me how to drive”
Trail Highlights: lots of opportunities to try something new with your vehicle. Trail starts near Idaho Hot Springs. One can take Saxton Road and drop vertically into Georgetown if you want to. We will get there over Sqaw Pass on HW 103. We may have time to see the Lamartine Mine and tunnel.

 

Important Details:
What to Bring: Smile, camera, lunch & drinks, chairs, snacks, adequate water for drinking, sun glasses, sun screen, rain coat, kids. Dogs are welcome. Air compressor if you have one to air up tires. Good mech vehicle.
Start Time and Location: Arrive between 9-9:30 am. Evergreen Safeway parking lot. Arrive early to get acquainted with the others and checked in, go to bathroom, buy food etc. We will leave at 9:30 am sharp. Return time and location: Evergreen Walmart parking lot around 4 pm.
