Mark your calendar for the Florissant Heritage Days:
The Florissant community will celebrate Heritage Day on Saturday July 30.
They did not have a flyer to share, so I compiled information from a couple different posts. Some may be redundant. Florissant Heritage Days is an annual event and is always a great time.
July 30 9 AM – 3 PM – Florissant Heritage Day.
This is a big day in Florissant with events at the Fossil Beds, Hornbeck Homestead, Pikes Peak Historical Society Museum, the cemetery and of course the Grange.
 
FEATURED AT THE GRANGE:
THE BRIGHTCO HOME GROUP serving hamburgers and hotdogs and chips.
Susie Knight, Western Music Entertainer of the year, several years running and more on the indoor stage.

TEACHERAGE aka Old School House Museum next to the Grange: Open from 10am to 2pm
Kids activities
And the Gift shop will be open.
Join us for the fun.
 
Pikes Peak Historical Society will have the main museum open from 9 am to 4 pm and in cooperation with the Lake George Gem & Mineral Club will have a rock cutting and polishing demonstration open outside from 9 am to 1 pm.
 
PRESENTATION AT THE FLORISSANT PIONEER CEMETERY: Beginning at 11am unless there is a weather situation, Topic: history of several Civil War Veterans and families buried at our cemetery.
 
PPHS MUSEUM: Open 9am-4pm Mineral displays including the four-foot-tall smoky quartz crystals, mining and ranching pieces and a wonderful Gift Shop. We still have copies of the reprinted FLORISSANT books (editions 1 and 2).
