Why join us: Time to get out into the wild country of Colorado if you have not been out yet this year. This is a nice beginner’s trail. It has some steep and rocky sections, Trip limited to first 12 vehicles.

 

Who: If you have not been with us before you are welcome to join us. We will give you all the coaching and advice you need to be successful. This is a good first-time beginner’s trail.

 

Trail Rating: 4 out of 10. This is a very popular trail that is west of Fairplay to leadville. It is a perfect beginners trail. Please read the references above to understand trail descriptions and risks. At the end of the day, you might say something like “I would have never tried that. It was easy with experienced people telling me how to drive”

 

Trail Highlights: Trail starts near Alma and ends on CO 91 on the way to Leadville. Mosquito pass ends in Leadville. Some opportunities to try something new with your vehicle. Could have a late lunch in Leadville around 2pm?
Important Details:

 

What to Bring: Smile, camera, lunch & drinks, chairs, snacks, adequate water for drinking, sun glasses, sun screen, rain coat, kids. Dogs are welcome. Air compressor if you have one to air up tires. Good mech vehicle.

 

Start Time and Location: Arrive at 9 am. Conifer Safeway parking lot. Arrive early to get acquainted with the others and checked in, go to bathroom, buy food etc. We will leave at 9:30 am sharp. Return time and location: Evergreen via HW 70 around 5-5:30 pm.
