I am extremely honored I was asked to be the first Indigenous artist exhibit at the Hiwan Heritage Park & Museum. When we moved to Evergreen I reached out to the staff when I noticed Acoma pottery and was curious of the history. They have embraced me and I have presented to their staff prior to the pandemic. Jennee reached out when redoing their Plains & Pueblos program. The Hiwan staff has been very respectful, thoughtful and I value their commitment.
My exhibit will be up for 6 months and you should come see it, if you don't get a chance to see it on the opening night. I am crazy blessed to have the connection I do with my heritage and a family that embraces me asking questions I do not know. You will also see my photography from places around the state, places I have traveled and people I have met along the way.
At the beginning there will be a small presentation and then I'll be around for questions! I definitely don't have all the answers, I can only speak for myself and my experiences. Can't wait to see you and meet you!
