ECO’s 2022-2023 Masterworks Concert Series begins! Join us for our Season Opener, featuring Haydn’s famous Symphony No. 101 - “The Clock” symphony - and the WORLD PREMIERE PERFORMANCE of ECO Music Director William Hill’s new symphonic composition, his Symphony No. 4.

Two Classical Symphonies

ECO is delighted to kick off our 41st Season with two incredible symphonies! The program begins with one of ECO Music Director William Hill’s newest compositions – his Symphony No. 4. Bill’s Fourth Symphony is composed in the classical style featuring four movements, but takes some modern detours along the way.

The second half of the program consists of a classical masterpiece – Franz Joseph Haydn’s Symphony No. 101 in D Major, H. 1/101 – known by its colloquial name “The Clock” for the ticking rhythm throughout the second movement. This work is part of a group of the twelve London Symphonies that Haydn composed during his two visits to London. The 101st Symphony was composed during his second visit, between 1793 – 1794, and this group contains some of his most well-known works.
