Jeffco Open Space Nature Journal Club: Sketchbook Nature Journaling Basics
Program Description:
Strengthen your personal connection with the natural world by keeping a sketchbook nature journal. This session will cover journaling fundamentals and will be a great opportunity for newcomers to develop basic drawing skills and find out more about materials. Time will also be spent journaling along the trails.

This session will cover journaling fundamentals and will be a great opportunity for newcomers to develop basic drawing skills and find out more about materials. Time will also be spent journaling along the trails.
This program will take place both indoors at the Lookout Mountain Nature Center and outdoors on the trails near the building. Masks are not required, but we will have surgical masks available for those who would be more comfortable with a face covering.
All ages. Instruction will be geared for adults, but children who are interested in art are welcome to attend with an adult. Parents, please make sure to monitor your children's energy and interest levels during club outings to ensure that their behavior is conducive to a positive learning environment for everyone.
Free. Registration is required.

Please bring the following items:
-Your own sketchbook, a pencil, a watercolor or colored pencil set, and any other art materials you would like to use. We will also have art materials to use during the session if you don't want to bring your own (other than the sketchbook).
-Water and a snack.
-Clothing layers appropriate for the weather for the outdoor field sketching portion of the program (the rest of the program is indoors).
-A backpack or shoulder bag to carry your supplies
-Optional- a mask if you would be more comfortable with a face covering for the indoor portions of the program. We will have some of the surgical variety available.

For the comfort of fellow participants, please leave pets at home. We will send out an email if the program needs to be changed or cancelled due to hazardous weather. If inclement weather is predicted, please check your email frequently so cancellation notices are not missed.
