Join the Park County Historical Society on another exciting historical tour of mining, gold panning & prospecting in South Park on August 26th
The 1st leg of our tour will be to view the Snowstorm Dredge near Alma (compliments of Snowstorm Sand/Gravel). We'll then have lunch (bring a sack lunch or dine at the restaurant of your choice).
Our co-host for the trip will be Bill Douthett, the grandson of PCHS founders Harold & Lenore Warren. On the second leg of the trip, Bill will share his years of gold-panning & prospecting experience in Park County with a presentation & then gold panning at Fairplay Beach. Bring your own gold pan (we have some and they are also available in Bailey). (Fairplay charges $10.00 to pan). Bill is happy to also teach & assist those new to the craft.
