This field workshop will take place as a hike through some of the best mountain lion country I’ve explored in Northern Colorado. It will be a moderate hike of five miles round trip. We will explore a new area and set up five cameras. The location will be chosen based on pre-scouting using Google Earth, information from locals and state wildlife data. You’ll learn how an area is chosen and where, when and how to look for mountain lion activity. It will be near Loveland, Colorado.

Learn firsthand how mountain lions hunt and navigate across the landscape and the impact they have on the ecosystem as a keystone species. Mountain lions, although elusive, are one of the most predictable predators in North America. That combination of being elusive, yet predictable is worth learning about. Along the way you’ll learn about other wildlife species as well, both predators and prey.
We will be setting up cameras in certain areas to take advantage of the four natural factors used to pinpoint mountain lion activity.
Cost: $200 (Limited to 7 Participants, One space left)
The workshop includes:
learning where, how and when to look for mountain lions
understand the natural factors that influence mountain lion activity and how they change throughout the year
learn how to set up trail cameras or camera traps to maximize footage and quality
understand the impact a keystone wildlife species has on the ecosystem
learn how to find wildlife rich areas near where you live

I offer these hikes as a way to share my passion for studying and filming mountain lions and spending time in truly wild country. You’ll learn some valuable backcountry navigation and safety skills as well.
The last twenty years have been spent studying and filming mountain lions in some of the wildest country of Colorado and Montana. I developed a system, using four natural factors, which allows me to pinpoint mountain lion activity throughout the United States, Canada and Chile. I enjoy sharing this knowledge and supporting others to study this magnificent apex predator through a personalized Mountain Lion Workshop which includes mapping mountain lion activity in the client’s chosen area, up to 100 square miles.
