Celebrate the start of the New Year at January First Friday with an afternoon and evening of winter fun! On Friday, Jan. 3, head to North Pond Park from 2:00 to 7:30 p.m. for ice fishing, a polar plunge, ice skating under the lights and more! Enjoy crafts with Frosted Flamingo, live music from DJ Nathan Yan, mobile saunas, and free hot cocoa around the fire.
Community members will need to bring their own skates for ice skating. Cutthroat Anglers will provide ice fishing supplies for the community to use.
Test your strength against the icy forces of nature at Silverthorne's Polar Plunge! The Town of Silverthorne, in coordination with Summit Fire & EMS and Summit County Water Rescue will begin the Polar Plunge at 2:30 p.m. at North Pond Park. For every person that take the plunge, the Town of Silverthorne will donate $20 to Summit Water Rescue Group, up to 100 people.
Participants will have from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. to enter the water in the designated plunge location. Participant registration is FREE but is limited to 150 participants. Plunge participants will receive a surprise giveaway.
