Captain Picker will be teaching a class free to the general public. Please show support for our monthly community education classes, as much work has gone into selecting topics and writing curriculum. We feel that these classes will help promote a healthier and safer community. Classes are typically held in the training room at Fire Station 1, 1745 County Road 102 in Guffey.
Class topic: Cardiovascular Disease
As part of their monthly community wellness training, SPCFPD will be providing training on the cardiovascular system. Discussion topics will include what makes up the cardiovascular system, how it works, common cardiovascular disorders, risk factors, early signs and actions you can take to reduce your risks. Living in our rural environment and recognizing early signs of cardiovascular problems, and the action you can take to manage them, can be life saving.
