Join us from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is once again partnering with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to collect expired or unused medications free of charge.

 

This one-day event provides a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of prescription drugs, while also helping to prevent misuse and opioid addiction.

 

DEA Collection Locations:

• Sheriff’s Office: 200 Jefferson County Parkway, Golden (NW visitors’ parking lot off Weimer and 10th)

• Dakota Ridge High School: 13399 W. Coal Mine Ave., Littleton (main parking lot)

Accepted items:

• Prescription and over-the-counter solid dosage medications (tablets and capsules only)

 

Not accepted:

• Needles

• Aerosols

 

Before you drop off:

• Remove prescription labels from original containers

• Place medications in a plastic bag
