Reminder: Invitation: Community Meeting on the Buffalo Park School Restoration Project: On behalf of the Evergreen Mountain Area Historical Society (EMAHS), I would like to invite you to a Community Meeting regarding the Buffalo Park School Project on Saturday, April 4th, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Hiwan Heritage Park & Museum.

The Buffalo Park School is a nearly 150-year-old log schoolhouse and stands as one of the oldest surviving one-room log school buildings in Colorado. In May 2025, through a partnership with the Evergreen Park & Recreation District (EPRD), EMAHS contributed over $25,000 to relocate the structure from Wilmot Elementary to its new home at Marshdale Park to ensure its survival.

We are now entering a critical phase of preservation and grant-seeking. We would greatly value having a representative from your organization attend to hear about our next steps and, most importantly, to provide input on the project’s future. Gathering community feedback and demonstrating public benefit is essential for our upcoming State Historical Fund grant applications.
