This isn’t just about STRs… this is about our local economy.

The proposed Short-Term Rental ordinance in Park County could have real, lasting impacts on our community—especially for the small businesses and local workers who rely on visitor activity.

Think about who STRs support:
• Cleaners
• Property managers
• Contractors & handymen
• Snow removal services
• Restaurants & coffee shops
• Retail stores
• Local service providers

When STR activity is reduced, that ripple effect is felt across our entire community. Fewer visitors means less spending, fewer jobs, and less income for the people who live and work here.

Many second homeowners also rely on STR income to make owning property here possible—with plans to retire in Park County long-term. That investment is part of what has helped build this community.

We don’t have an STR problem—we have an enforcement issue. Existing rules already address noise, trash, and occupancy. Broad restrictions won’t fix that, but they will impact responsible owners and the local economy.

There are two meetings this week where public input matters:

Monday, April 20th | 6:30–7:30 PM
Thursday, April 23rd | 6:30–7:30 PM

BOCC Board Room

If you’re a business owner, employee, or part of this community—your voice matters.

Please attend, speak, or submit comments. And share this with others who may be impacted. Instructions on public comment.

Let’s make sure the full economic impact is part of this conversation.
