Thank you for registering for our "Stories in the Stones: Como Cemetery Walking Tour" educational program in the historic Como Cemetery.

The pioneers who settled early Como have stories that are fascinating, compelling and often tragic. But they are nearly forgotten; for most, their sole remembrance is a marble headstone with fading markings. We'll introduce you to the past with historians/authors Christie Wright and Laura Van Dusen listening to pioneer’s tales as we walk through the beautiful aspen forest of the Como Cemetery.

The event will take place at from 1-2pm on Sunday August 2nd at Como Cemetary, followed by time for questions, cookies, and an opportunity to purchase books.

We'll be walking on moderately rough and uneven terrain at 10,000 foot elevation. Bring a camp chair, plenty of water, and a walking stick if desired.

Como Cemetery is located about a half-mile north of Como just west of Boreas Pass Road (County Road 33)

In October 1920, Celsus Link went alone to the Helper, Utah cemetery, dug up his father's bones, and carried them away in a suitcase. The remains of James Morrison Link were reburied at the Como Cemetery next to those of his beloved wife Elizabeth.
