Please join the Seniors Alliance of Platte Canyon for our fifth hiking adventure.
We are heading back to Staunton for the last hike this year. Follow the park road all the way up to Lazy V lot. The hike, approximately 8 miles, will take us up the Staunton Ranch trail, connect to Bugling Elk trail, connect with Lions Back trail, and the Lions Head loop trail. If the weather cooperates, we'll have lunch on top of Lions Head at 9,450 feet, where we will be treated to 360-degree views of beautiful Colorado. We will follow these trails back, returning to our starting point by approximately 4:00pm.
Let's hope for sunny skies and moderate temperatures. Come on out for the last organized hike in 2026, feel your stress fade away, breathe the fresh air, get some exercise, enjoy the flora and fauna in a beautiful park, interact with fellow hikers.
We encourage you to bring: water, sunscreen, comfortable shoes, a hat, sunglasses, snacks/lunch. You may want to bring a poncho or raincoat for those afternoon showers.
Staunton has a $10 vehicle admission fee or FREE if you have purchased the Keep Colorado Wild Pass when renewing your vehicle registration.
We hope to see you out on the trail!
