The free class/assistance will be at our office on Saturday, April 5th from 11-1. Folks can come at any time during those 3 hours; it's not a "class" that starts and ends- some people may be able to complete the installation in 45 minutes.
Before April 5th: If you are interested in the free session, please check your computers for compatibility prior to that date. You must also complete a back up of all your important files in the event there is a failure with the hard drive. This information is all listed on Microsoft's website.
Here is the link you will need to use to check if your computer is compatible with the upgrade prior to coming on April 5th. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/downloads/upgrade-advisor
SVC will only assist with questions or software issues that arise during the install. We will help you step by step with the procedure. Folks wishing to install Windows 7 will need to purchase that software in advance and bring it with them. You are solely responsible for the Windows 7 disc or download software and all fees and licensing associated with it. Please also provide a secondary media device for your back up if you wish for us to assist you in that process as well. We will not have any storage devices available. There is a risk that the drivers could have problems during the install, even if the test shows the machine is compatible.
