Jeffco Open Space is currently considering a property proposal for a large tract of land located south of Golden Gate Canyon Road in the vicinity of Douglas Mountain.  In 2004, a larger proposal from three landowners received mixed public support for acquisition and was withdrawn.  This proposal nominates two of the original properties for acquisition by Jeffco Open Space.  The properties total 954 acres of healthy forest and steep slopes.  

Please join your neighbors, recreation enthusiasts, conservation advocates and Jeffco Open Space staff to review the proposal, ask questions and provide feedback.  We are hosting a community meeting on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, beginning at 6:30 p.m,. in the Jeffco Open Space Ponderosa meeting room, 700 Jefferson County Parkway, Golden CO.  We want to hear from you and are asking the community to provide comments regarding potential acquisition and management by Jeffco Open Space.

A proposal presentation will be made by staff at 6:35 p.m. sharp.  Following the presentation, there will be ample time to ask questions, review maps and provide your comments.
