The Evergreen Downtown Business Association is holding its 23rd Annual Holiday Walk in downtown Evergreen, on Friday, December 5, beginning with the 5:00pm arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Lake House to light the community tree. Continue the merriment by walking with Santa and Mrs. Claus to Main Street for photos, roasted chestnuts, choirs, bell ringers, face painting, dance performances, and more. Free shuttle service will be offered from many locations. A schedule of events and walking map will be available at all downtown merchants Thanksgiving week.

EVERGREEN HOLIDAY WALK CELEBRATED AT HIWAN HOMESTEAD MUSEUM

The Holidays begin with a bang in Evergreen with the annual Evergreen Holiday Walk on Friday, December 5th. In the spirit of this exciting and fun community-wide celebration, Hiwan Homestead Museum will host its own activities from 6 to 9 P.M. on that date. Shuttles for the downtown festivities will leave and return to the Museum parking lot. For the people waiting for the shuttle, Museum volunteers will be roasting chestnuts on an open fire and offering hot cider and popcorn.

Inside the Museum, the Christmas decorations with a Wildlife theme will be hung throughout the 25-room log mansion dating from the late 1800's. An 18-foot-tall Christmas tree will decorate the huge living room. Holiday crafts for children will be offered in the 1876 Centennial Schoolroom. The Museum will be filled with the magical traditions of Christmas past during this gala celebration. Visit with Santa and tell him what you want for Christmas this year. This event is free to the public and no reservations are required.

Hiwan Homestead Museum is a 25-room log mansion that was once the headquarters for the 15,000-acre Hiwan Ranch. It is operated through a partnership between Jefferson County Open Space and the Jefferson County Historical Society. For more information on the Museum and its events, please call 720-497-7650.
