Celebrate the grand reopening of the Old Park County Courthouse on Thursday, October 23, from 5pm to 7pm at 418 Main Street in Fairplay! Formerly home to a number of Park County government offices including the Fairplay Branch of the Park County library, the historic 1874 courthouse now houses the offices of the Park County Department of Heritage, Tourism, and Community Development; Office of Historic Preservation; South Park National Heritage Area; and Office of Recreation Development. Additionally, the building now provides space for the Park County Local History Archives and South Park Archaeology Project non-profit organizations. Everyone is invited to tour the recently renovated main floor and celebrate the beginning of this exciting new chapter in the story of one of Park County’s most cherished historic buildings. Light refreshments will be served.
