Each Thursday from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Widow's Oil Pantry is open for anyone who is in need of food. No appointments are necessary, the pantry is operated on a walk-in basis. On your 1st visit you will be asked to complete a short form the primary purpose of which is to inform the pantry's suppliers about where the food is going. On each subsequent visit you only need to sign-in.
With the help of COMPA ministries & other food sources in the Denver CO area the Harris Park Food Bank first opened its doors to local residents in 2007. Subsequently the name was changed to Widow's Oil Pantry. The pantry now has access to more food items through the 9Cares/Colorado Shares program, and Food Bank of the Rockies. In 2010 WOP, provided food to about 417 recipients per month, or 5,000 recipients per year. The ministry serves mountain-area residents in both Park and Jefferson Counties.
WOP operates under the non-profit [501(c)(3)] umbrella of Harris Park Bible Church.
