DENVER — Denver Broncos head coach John Fox will undergo heart surgery next week, a team spokesman said Saturday, after Fox was taken to a hospital after feeling “light-headed.”

Fox will take a leave of absence from coaching for the next few weeks, Smyth said. The club has not yet announced who will serve a head coach in the interim.

“Our focus at this time is Coach Fox’s health and well-being,” Smyth said. “We extend our thoughts and well-wishes to him for a full and speedy recovery.”

Think this will hurt the Broncos? Personally I think the organization will bounce back quickly. Fox seems to be more of a manager than a coach.

NFL teams always get worried about players on their week off getting into trouble. Looks like Coach Fox took it to another level.

I think the team will be fine. Unlike some organizations where one person seems to run the show and it's all on them, this one seems to be filled with much great talent that works together.

Jack Del Rio, defensive coordinator and former head coach should have no trouble taking the reins for the second half.
JDR is already being talked about as a coaching candidate for both college and NFL teams.

And now Gary Kubiak of the Texans has collapsed on the field at halftime. I wonder what caused him to collapse.

Yikes! It was just reported on the halftime show that he was sitting up and responding to emergency personnel, hopefully he's okay.
