Uh, probably because we were under attack as a nation and we desired the U.S. government to get the knuckleheads. I don't have any fears about wiretaps, tracking, email sniffing, or other "shredded" 4th amendment issues....then again, I am not an enemy of the state like your Muslim brethen.
Why would I want to give the U.S. government to track me on the internet. They can't even track the illegals (or stop them) so imagine what kind of organization the U.S. governmnt would build to track the internet usage by legal Americans.
These Marxian socialist just want more control of legal Americans.
