Our male bulldog has constant yeast infections in his ears.
What is a good method to clear this up?
We prefer something more natural.
Is gentian violet a safe option?
Hi Becky, to clean my pups ears, for years and years I have used Boric Acid mixed in witch hazel with gentin violet or betadine Let me look it up I forget the exact recipe I also use a NFP Puffer after the ear has dried from the wash to dry up the gook Be sure and stand back after the wash and let them shake out as much as possible

here is the recipe although I do not recommend using alcohal as it stings the ears, I have always left it out and have used Witch Hazel and boric acid and betadine or violet
Thx guys.....
I suspect that a lot of his problem is some sort of allergy. We just fight this all the time with him. Our female never has any problems. I look forward to trying your recipe.
Any type of ear cleaner that has a drying agent should help decrease the frequency of yeast infections but may not clear them up until you resolve the underlying problem, usually allergies with bulldogs. If you have more questions, about ears or allergies, I'd be happy to help.
