Mountain lions in Burland

There are a number of mountain lions in the Burland area. Where i am staying, in the mid bird area, there is a mountain lion mom with young kits who has been here for a few months. She has made quite a few deer kills. She does good, the herd needs thinning. The sort of sad part is that this area has been a lovely nursery for the fawn births which isn't happening this year.

Over in the upper bird area near where my mom lives there is a mountain lion mom and youth who have taken out a number of pets. The neighbor next to my mom is minus one of their dogs.

The point is if you live up here there will be mountain lions even if you don't see them. Please take care of your pets and don't let them run. And please keep an even closer eye on your children. I cringe when i see neighbor's kids out on the trampoline and there are mountain lions so very close to them. The parents have been notified in the past and still leave their children unattended.
