Not to say that there isn't anything, as it's the middle of the night and websites don't get updated and most people are in bed, but there's nothing that I can find. Hopefully we'll hear more once our scanners are up!

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

I never work it that hard these days; but good guess!

I smelled it Saturday night when we were out in the spa and then again last night when I got up because I couldn't sleep and I was INSIDE (but windows were open)

I know a high pressure system has settled in over us and thought maybe the new wind patterns were bringing smoke up from the south. I looked up the Wallow Fire because I hadn't heard anything about it in weeks and it looks to be contained and I could not find any other BIG fires going on.

Maybe an outdoor fire pit or a chiminea that someone left smoldering? When our pellet stove kicks on we can smell the smoke from the ignite.

Could there be something smoldering inside a wall? Have you had to reset a breaker? Any switch plate outlet covers hot?

don't you scare me like that! this smells like burned wood, like it does when you have a fire pit outside

Wily - is it that clean smoke smell like a campfire, or the dirty smell like old ashes or a charcoal bbq?

campfire kind of smoke, but I get your idea, maybe someone has a smoldering bbq? but it seems to only be at night that I am smelling it. Kinda like when the Stockyards smell drifts in here from time to time - only seems to be at night.

and neptunechimney, I KNOW you are trying to help :)
