What is your definition (dollar-wise,salary) of MIDDLE CLASS. Without googling the information, your estimate of middle class salaries? In
reading the WSJ today I was somewhat taken back by their definition and wondered if others would be too.....(I will post the WSJ
figures after replies.)

Off the top of my head I'd place middle class in a range from $45,000 a year to $100,000 a year for a family of four.

MY estimate also of the definition of middle class. According to WSJ....."40% of households with annual incomes between $50,000 and $140,000."....... :faint:

Those are good numbers but in places like SF, NYC and DC, I would go with the up to $140K for middle class, otherwise top at $100K.

It is really sad, when you middle class life style has turned into lower income bracket.

I think the country and media is way too focused on class and income. There is more to it than a number. I know people who are flat broke on $80K and people who do just fine under $40K. Think outside the box and learn how to manage your money and spending.

If you want to be, press one. If you want not to be, press 2

That's very true. Seems like every time I get a raise, my bills expand correspondingly. Noticed this a few years back and decided the problem was my spending habits and not what I was earning. Pretty easy to fix once you identify the problem.
