Those photos were taken on 10/14 around 11am. The fox was leaving the tree and looking down before leaping head first to the ground. I'm not sure why he decided to leave the tree. I'm glad the photos came out out OK because they were taken from the house through double pane glass.
And that's the 2nd time we've seen a fox in that same tree. The last time was last April/May when there was still snow on the ground. When we saw the fox, it appeared to be finishing eating a bird up in the tree. Then he stayed in the branches rolled up in a ball and slept the rest of the day. He didn't come down until night time. I took photos last time, but about all you could see was a ball of fur.
we have a mom gray fox (we call her foxy) and kits of hers from last year and this year around. We LOVE foxes as they help with the abundant rodent population. I love those guys. I would LOVE to see how that fox got up that high...
