I have a book about World War II air combat and one of the chapters was written by Andy Rooney flying along on a bombing run over Germany. He told a good story.

However, he disappointed me by calling people who wanted his autograph "idiots." Same thing when someone called to him on the street. They were "idiots" too. Those are the people who kept him in his job.
