Even then, he said he wasn't retiring. Writers never retire. But his life after the end of "A Few Minutes With Andy Rooney" was short: He died Friday night, according to CBS, only a month after delivering his 1,097th and final televised commentary.

I haven't watched 60 Minutes for years.... so I haven't seen his stuff in that time.

I have a book by him somewhere... from the time when he traveled the U.S. in a motorhome and found quirky little stories in out-of-the-way towns. "On The Road" used to air on the CBS Evening News. I really like d that part of his career.

I will miss Andy. He was a genuine American curmudgeon. He also had a very distinguished career as a writer and reporter. RIP Andy.

I remember the "On the Road" with Charles Kuralt.

Andy Rooney's humor was quite enjoyable at times.

That was my point. I hope that I did not muddle the meaning of my post. My enjoyment of Rooney was as a commentator on 60 Minutes.
