Researching New Refrigerator - Passive Condenser Coils

09 Nov 2011 09:35 #1 by Wily Fox aka Angela
You know, I am so over the noise of modern refrigerators with their "fan assisted condenser coils" UNDER the bloody fridge that you are supposed to somehow get to in order to get the dust and crap that the fan actually ATTRACTS under there.

Do they make the "old kind" that had a large passive condenser coil that was mounted on the backside of the refrigerator anymore? Or can you convert a modern refrigerator to use the old passive condenser coils?

Our new refrigerator, a GE Profile has sealed coils, no dirt or dust gets to the coils...no cleaning needed. That was one of the selling points
..and it is very quiet.

not THAT'S what I'm talking about! I'll go check them out. I want to get the french doors with freezer on the bottom. I am also tired of no room in a side by side. Where did you buy it?
