"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

This is sad. There was another fire in Kittredge recently. I saw it on FB somewhere. The man was a painter. I will have to look for it in the morning.

Brenda was one of the first customers to visit Mountain Dollar when we opened and has been a regular since that first visit.

She came in the store yesterday and at the time I did not know it was her husband that passed in this fire. She was not looking well so I asked her if she was feeling ok and it was only then that I found out what had happened.

My heart just broke because you see Brenda always visits the store with a big smile on her face and a killer giggle to go along with it.

She was so overwhelmed and needed essentials which I told her to just take what she needed and if she remembered anything come back and get more.

I am working to get a list of other things she needs (the entire house was a lose) so we can help her find items to begin rebuilding her life.

If you happen to get new household gifts for Xmas and would like to donate your older items please email or PM me what you might have available. Bob and I will come pick them up and store them until she settles into a new home.

Please remember you can also donate funds for Brenda at Evergreen National Bank.

I know that Echo is helping her out and hope to post her needs soon but want to make sure we give her the time she needs to deal with this tragic situation.

Our email is . you can also call the store if you have any items 303-679-1343. At this time I am going to focus on household items pot and pans, toaster, coffee maker, etc. rather than cloths as I am sure that is something Echo will probably be able to cover. Mountain Dollar will cover her on anything she needs that we have in our store if anyone one might know how she can get a hold of some pet food for her animals (we only carry treats) please let me know.

We know that this effort will take several months but will post as much information as soon as we have it.

Please keep Brenda and her family in your thoughts and prayers both her and her husband are very caring and wonderful people.

Thank You,
Kim Conroy

I think, well, I know I can come up with some pet food. What kind? Dog or cat or both?

She has two dogs and at least two cats I know some were lost in the fire.

I believe the services are tomorrow so I do not know how much information I will have before Christmas but as soon as I know I will give you a shout.

Thank you so much!!!!

Hello All,

First thank you to all of you who have taken the time to post here or email me to get more information.

I spoke with the folks at Echo and they believe that Brenda will be coming in next week to discuss her needs.

As many of you know this was not the only fire that has happened in Kittredge in the past several weeks and Echo is going to provide me with a list of needs for some of the other families. As soon as I have that list I will post it here in case you have something they are looking for.

God Bless
Kim Conroy

Brenda stopped by the store today and she wanted me to thank everyone for all you have done for her!!!!!!!

She is still staying with friends but hopes to get into a rental soon so she can begin building her new life. She does have storage locker that was donated for her to put items in until she can find a new place to live.

Once she has a chance to inventory what she still needs she will let us know and I will post wht those needs are.

Brenda is a wonderful woman and Bob and I would also like to personally thank all who have helped her out. She has some medical issues going on because of the smoke she inhaled that evening but she is being treated for this.

This is truly a wonderful community and on behalf of Brenda we would like to say you guys rock and thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
