I was in a bowling league once and it happened about every other week to someone, everyone playing would stop and go watch the 10th frame throws (3). I always thought it must be worse for the bowler having all the attention and pressure, and all other activity in the alley was suspended.
If you want to be, press one. If you want not to be, press 2
Republicans are red, democrats are blue, neither of them, gives a flip about you.
What happens in your league is you get maybe 7 strikes in a game and people will start whispering and talking because they don't want to jinx you. Then that spreads down a little bit but they don't say anything to you. I am really happy for him he has been close before. He will get more. And it was sanctioned and happened in his league rather than when we go practice or something. HE said he will get a ring and shirt or something but I am sure at the end of the year a little money will be involved too. 9 pins from a 700 series too.
WHile no money is involved, it will translate into a high game of the year trophy.
I had a few of those. Bowled my first 300 when I was 19 and another at 21 while at Fort Belviour in the Army. Bowled for the SUNY college team at Oswego and then pretty much gave bowling up.

I didn't know you were a good bowler. That is great! Do you still bowl now?

No. Muscles in my right hand have atrophied because of a pinched nerve condition in my elbow years ago. Controlling a finger tip bowling ball (which Is what I always used to use) is out of the question. Also, to really bowl well you need to have good timing, thatn cn take years to get down pat. Every now and then I go with the kids and simply use a house ball. It will take me two or three games now just to get some form of timing back. Can't throw the big bender with it though, so no more "hit them thin and watch them spin". Because of my hand, I bowled lefty in a league, but only averaged about 167. That was a big come down and not fun.
My average was about 150 when I was in a league. I could never use a house ball though. LOL I know what you mean though. Bowling now is alot different than it was when I was younger.
