From one of my favorite Facebook pages this morning:
(some the comments are hilarious too, but keep in mind the title of the FB page...just sayin') :Whistle
overheard this morning - - - FRIEND OF THE BOY CHILD: i can't believe your mom and my mom are the same age, your mom looks so much older. BOY CHILD: i know. ask your mom what kind of moisturizer your mom uses and i'll tell my mom.
really? this is what 11 year old boys discuss?
rofllol
I could so see my son having this conversation. My mom still brings up a first grade picture that I drew of my family, that in addition to the picture details of hair color, height, etc, I so helpfully added in all of our ages as well - and it was hung up in the hallway at school! lol I had no idea...
What funny things have your kids said?

Umm, Arlen can you point out where the author or any of the fans say that they are single moms? I may have missed that. This is a fan page with almost 198,000 followers, I highly doubt that all of them are single moms. And what does not having a man in the house have to do with boys commenting on their moms looks? I find it very observant of 11 year old boys that they noticed what routines and products their moms use to affect their appearance, and make the connection between using moisturizer and less wrinkles/less old. I also think it's very cute that her son only wanted to help.

Um Arlen, sure, boys wouldnt be discussing their Mom, if they were from a single Dad home. But if they have a Mom and a Dad at home, their dicussion just might have morphed into shaving cream. Now if they were talking sports, what broadbrush assumption would you make?
I grew up with a whole lot of boys around. I have raised boys. I might even have been a boy. Boys are no mystery.
Only women do not understand the mind of a boy. They think that there is nothing wrong with a girly-boy.
I'm totally confused. Because men teach their kids to not observe or care about others, or try to find solutions to what they perceive as problems? Or men don't care about the condition of their skin and pass that along to their boys (because skin care/worrying about aging is a woman-only subject?)?

Hmmmm now that is something to contemplate.
Don't be confused, Science Chic, Arlen has enough confusion going on for all of us. We can take the day off
