IMHS Press release. For immediate release:

IMHS Matchmakers Offer Sweet Valentine’s Day Deal

Declaring that “nobody should be without a sweetheart on Valentine’s Day” the Intermountain Humane Society (IMHS) is offering discounted adoption fees on cats who are 3 years or older for one week, from Tuesday, February 7 through Valentine’s Day on Tuesday, February 14th.

“We recognize that busy single people, couples, and families sometimes celebrate Valentine’s Day before the actual day, so anyone who is looking for true love from an adult cat can get a real sweet deal from the 7th through the 14th,” said Marta Anderson, IMHS Shelter Director, “Our shelter is full of sweetheart cats who have been jilted but are ready to give a new relationship a try, and we know that the right match is out there for them so we’re offering this special incentive.”

The adoption fee for cats aged 3 yrs. and up during this one-week special is 1/2 off the regular adoption fee (making cats 3 yrs old $35, cats 6yrs and up $20).

Every IMHS cat is spayed or neutered, given age-appropriate vaccines, de-wormed, tested for feline leukemia/FIV, micro-chipped, and comes with a free vet visit and a cardboard carrier, making the reduced adoption fee an excellent value.

The Shelter is now open seven days a week in order to better serve the community, from 11 am to 4 pm daily but with evening hours on Wednesday, when the shelter is open from 11 am to 7 pm.

The Intermountain Humane Society is a private, non-profit organization that receives no government funding and relies on donations from the community to serve its mission. IMHS is located at 67318 US Hwy 285 S in Pine Junction, in the back of the Log Building. For more information on adoption or volunteer opportunities, call 303-838-2668 or visit

Hello all,

As some of you may know, yesterday I had to put one of my two adult cats to sleep because she had advanced feline leukemia (in spite of getting vaccinated and boosters in AZ before we moved here). They think it was dormant in her bone marrow. :((((((( We still have her daughter as she adopted us almost 9 years ago and a few short months later we found out she was pregnant. lol We kept one of her babies and found homes for the rest and then had her spayed. The daughter who is now grown will go to the vet early next week to get tested again and see is carrying the same disease (they can get it through the momma giving birth) even though she was negative before. Keeping my fingers crossed that she will be ok as she seems really healthy.

Since I'm not ready to get a new kitty right now, and Franz is definitely not a pet person (although he's tolerated them so far) I don't want to bring a new kitty home especially in light of not knowing about Jack (our cat) yet. But, I do want to honor my sweet April and this is what I'd like to do:

IMHS is having a great deal on adoption fees on adult cats right now (until the 14th) and if anyone out there would like a new special friend but perhaps the funds are tight right now then I'd like to give you a Valentine's gift of paying your adoption fee for you. They are also doing a 2 for 1 of adult cats who have bonded together where you get them both for one fee. That would be wonderful I think!

If you're interested why not go down there today, or this weekend, and see if there is someone there for you? You can send me a PM and I will take care of the fee with them. If you require food, etc., to get you started then please let me know too ok?

You would help my heart heal and my April in Heaven would be honored too. Thanks for reading and I hope someone special finds a home and brings joy into your heart.

Sunshine

P.S. This offer is good whether you're a member of 285Bound, Pinecam, neither, or both. The kitties really don't care.

oh you are AWESOME. I mean I know you've had a rough week with April and now worrying about the others and you chose to respond to all this by being a very GIVING LOVING person. I am humbled by your generosity, SG. Can I post this over on PC as well?

Hail April and SG!

Thank you Wily, it has been an emotional roller coaster of a week for sure but I always see the silver lining in things and this would sure be it. I certainly don't mind if you post it there, but I don't know if they will let you.

Oh I didn't see it here.....sorry about that. :faint: Valentine's Day is all about giving and receiving love and our 4-legged creatures deserve it too. I can't think of anything better but a cat getting the love of a forever home. Was Chloe (love that name!) one of the cats that have been there for over a year? I'm very glad to see that she found a home! Hopefully some more will go home this week too!

What a wonderful offer, SG.

We were just there today and I must say all the adult cats are beautiful. Quizzer is marked just like one of ours -- a Classic Oriental Tabby. If someone wants two, sisters Gracie and Olivia need to find their forever home together. If you decide on these two lovely ladies I'll match SG's offer and all the adopter will have to come up with is lots of love.

Yeah, Chloe had been here almost a year. We also have Mica, and Keeley, and Shayla and Sketchers that have all been here since April or May of last year.

Everyone should come by and visit. They love attention.

I glad to see one that have been there a long time get a home. I'd love to come by and see them, but I think I'm going to need a bit of time or I'll break down or maybe just take them ALL home. lol I think I'd have to find a new place to live though if I did that. Hopefully it will be a very busy weekend and homes can be found.

We got four of our six from IMHS - I like to support them as much as I am able in honor of the joy they've put in our house. :)
