Wow, the worst since the 1940's. Must have been a perfect combination of moisture from the sea and a cold front holding. Have to feel really sorry for the wildlife. Hopefully they can stand on top of it.
I was in Oregon a few years ago and the snow used to be so deep where I would hike that trappers put their traps for ground animals 10 feet high on trees.

My husband loves to the story of when he lived in Halfway, OR... There he was, it literally snowed for 40 days and 40 nights and it was over the roof line of the house. He has a picture of it and even one with cows on the roof!
Not counting drifts, I would say the deepest I have walked through was 3 feet. Very exhausting. I can't imagine having to shovel snow twice as tall as I am.
